Geesh, what has Mother Nature done to us? Typical MO weather, but OMG! I guess we have just been really spoiled by the 70 degree weather in late October/November, but holy cow it was cold today!
We tried to go to Savanah's softball game, but ding-dong Mommy forgot shoes for the kids (this really isn't as bad as it sounds - Maw Maw and Paw Paw kept the monkey's last night and we dropped them off in their PJ's, with no intent on doing anything outside when we picked them up). Both kiddos were in desperate need for a nap, no shoes and runny noses equals...gotta get outta here...and FAST!!
We had a TON of fun last night at Jamie and Justins, I completely sucked at Phase 10, but it sounded as though Dan did pretty good at darts. I think we ended up having one of those middle school girls upstairs, boy downstairs parties...but it was fun to torment the guys everytime they came upstairs! Matt had a classic shirt on that said "Hi, you'll do"...it was hilarious and made quite interesting conversation for the evening!! Turns out the un-prego women were almost outdone by the knocked up ones! Erin T., Jamie and Carol vs. me, Kate and Jill was fun!!
Poor Tom, just when he begins to open up...poor guy gets soaked with the "hairband around the sink sprayer" prank...not just once, but twice...his bad though, he thought the sink was broken! And then he got pressured into the Cupcake eating contest, with Dan (only about twice his size) and Tony "won't ever pass up a dare and will eat anything" Craig...but I think he might have come out with the victory!! Its almost 5pm the following day though and I am pretty sure, he probably hasn't gotten out of bed! HA
So, tomorrow is NKOTB for Kate and I really wish I could have won those backstages passes for her, but I am glad to know that she won't be going back there for Jordan to fall in love with her and she will be coming home to Matt!!

Another great turnout!
Yesterday was the next (and hopefully last) benefit for Skip. These things are really awesome and are doing a great service to Kathy and Nick, its just really hard to see all his great friends and pictures of him everywhere. Getting closer to the holidays seems to make it harder right now, but I am sure of it, that this is part of the process and we will get through it. I saw a TON of money being spent on the GORGEOUS baskets and items that had been donated! I heard the food was great too! $6 for a giant porksteak and 2 sides or 2 brats and 2 sides...whatta steal!
Aunt Kathy looked really good and Todd seems to be doing better, so it was very nice to see that! We got to spend some much needed time with Nick too...man has he grown up! He actually used the term "sexy" yesterday and I think my head make complete circles! I know, I know...he is 12...but to me, I guess he is still my little cuz, about 6 years old! He is a really good skater and I am so happy he has a hobby to help him get through this!
Shawn won the margarita basket...NOT FAIR!
We got to see cousin Michael and Kacie, they both looked great too...its always good to see them! I think we have the next annual night out in Cuba scheduled too for the weekend after Turkey Day! Watch out 65453, here we come!

Diarrhea of the thoughts..
So, I have so much to say...and forgot to blog over the weekend again. I know I am possibly stealing some really HUGE thunder...but I can hardly contain myself...Aunt Carol and Umpa Tom are having a BABY!! This is going to be so amazing and this baby is such a wanted part of our family!! We are all sooo very excited and I just don't think July is going to get here soon enough!! Are you ready for this journey? Oh boy we are!! The pressure is off Dan and I and now its Carol and Tom's time to be the "baby-makers!" WHOOT WHOOT!!
For anyone wondering who #5 is in the Davis Family of 5...here is our handsome guy!! Colby is the worlds best dog!! He has been through 2 mean, mean kitties, a terribly obnoxious Husky (Jack) and 2 babies that poke him in the eyes, pull his ears, ride him like a horsey and have taken just about all of the attention he could possibly get and yet, he is still happy to see us every day and is the most well behaved doggie ever!!
History in the making...and other stuff too!
Wow...what a Tuesday?? History has been made and I think it is amazing! I did not vote for Barack Obama, but I am very proud of the people in our country for making a record breaking election and stepping up to the plate and choosing someone for who they are and not their skin color. I am excited at the possible changes and look forward to new things! GO USA!! I did not even plan on voting, but my little Auntie and her bestest friend explained to me that I needed to choose something that is important to me and run with it. What great peeps they are!
So, the kiddos are AWESOME! They are just as bad as can be, but I couldn't ask for anymore...my little guy pushes his chair (b/c he can't walk yet on his own) up to the counter, climbs up on it and just stands there like, "Hey mom, whatcha doin?" Holy cow...who is this little guy? Oh yeah, he is DAN'S SON!!! Watch out Progress West (local favorite hospital)...HERE WE COME!! Little missy is quite a piece of work as well...tonight she chucked a pretty solid toy at D3's head (he didn't even flinch), but she didn't understand that she needed to apologize for it and why she was being yelled at. It took about an hour trying to get her to understand and bedtime without binkies, but she finally acted as though she understood (between the breath holding and hyperventilating) that she couldn't be mean to brother like this. WOW...what a night!!
We went to the Zoo on Saturday and it was great!! The kids seemed to enjoy it, but I think we stayed just a minute too long...the meltdown began just as we were finishing up our Build-a-Bears, but good thing, the Zoo was closing...it was time to go! It was not too crowded, it was gorgeous weather and the Penguins were out!! They splashed a lady and were being sooo cute!
Dan had a day off today and actually cut the grass, weed eated the trim and FINALLY put the sprinklers away! What a man....he read my "virtual" honey-do list!!
My Human Lifespan class is going AWESOME, so far I got an A on my first test and an A on my first paper! Keep your fingers crossed that these good grades keep comin in!!
This weekend we have another benefit event for Uncs on Saturday, going to try and stop by and do that...and then its on to GAME NIGHT at the Swiers! I swear, the older we get, the more exciting "boring" things become!! (Not that games are boring at all...they are actually the highlight of our weekends and free time)

Beginning of the Holidays...starting with Halloween!
Happy (late) Halloween!
We have had a great start to the holidays this year! We had a complete blast yesterday. Yesterday morning was little crappy though...we competed in the WIL92 "Trunk or Treat" and we DID NOT WIN!!! :( Kate, Dan and I spent several hours working on making a really kick butt graveyard scene in the back of the Durango and we were beat out by 3 chicks sitting at a table in the back of a pickup posing as American Idol judges, Randy, Paula and Simon. That was a crappy beginning to a great Halloween...but it got sooo much better! Work was great, we had some fun and left a little early. We came home and got Lexi and D3 ready in their costumes (Lexi a scarecrow girl and D3 a lion). They were just tooooo cute! I will post the pictures as soon as I figure out how. Lexi refused to say "trick or treat" to anyone and only said "thank you" to a couple of the people, but it was still fun. We saw a little Dorothy out there and she was just adorable! Maw Maw, Paw Paw, Aunt Carol and Uncle Tom came over. Aunt Carol was a hot pirate and Uncle Tom was a jailbird. I was able to squeeze into Carol's bunny costume, but since my legs are a little longer, I had to keep my jeans on underneath! Not quite Hef material, but we are getting there! It is safe to say that Lexi's favorite candy is M&M's!!
